Department of Engineering Surveying - TSMA Course Dates 2010
TSMA is presenting the SAQA registered National Certificate Surveying. The unit standards covering the qualification are clustered together into twelve one week modules at a rate of one module per month, meaning the qualification will be presented over a period of one year. The learners will also keep a surveying log book (portfolio of evidence) of experience gained at the workplace, which will be assessed by the assessors and moderators of TSMA in order to gain the necessary credits to complete the qualification.
TSMA will provide all the necessary stationary, learning material, calculators, drawing instruments, computers, surveying equipment, food and refreshments needed by the learner to complete the course successfully and will be included in the course fees. The venue for the modules will be at the Roodeplaat Training Centre of the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry just north of Pretoria. A limited number of accommodation places are available at the Roodeplaat Training Centre at an additional cost, book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Each module can also be seen as a short learning programme for learners who do not want to complete the whole qualification. Each module has been structured in such a way that it will cover a specific surveying process in order to for the learner to be productive at the workplace in that specific surveying process.
Learners must do Module 3 with at least a 60% pass mark before they will be allowed to enroll for the higher modules. The module must preferably been followed in the module number order, because it is the most logical way and the knowledge gained in the previous modules will be needed in the follow-up modules.
